ASSESSING THE LEVEL OF READERSHIP OF PRINT MEDIA IN OSOGBO LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

Abstract
The study examined newspaper readership within Osogbo metropolis especially at the free readers’ joints in Osogbo roundabout also known as Oke-fia roundabout with the intention to know why people gather every morning to know the latest information, locally and nationally and how the newspapers contents they read affect and influence them. It is very obvious that the most widely to the findings is the Nation. The study employed survey method using the questionnaire as research instrument to gather the required data. Findings in the study show that each newspaper has its daily supply which varies according to demand, and each newspaper has its reader’s choice. It is therefore recommended that stories that will help and educate its readers, should be disseminated to the readers, to add more values to their well-being.
